World Driver’s License
The World Driver’s License is intended to help you avoid difficulties you might have while driving a car, or any vehicle in another country, specially due to language barriers, driving laws and regulations of that country.
Most original driver’s licenses contain limited information. This may cause problems such as, penalty tickets, unnecessary arrest and holding of your vehicle in a foreign country.
WDL is necessary at car rentals, motor vehicle registration, insurance propose and local driving authorities for identification.
World Driver’s License (WDL) translates your official Driver’s License in multiple languages. Simple and easy to be used for languages listed in the WDL official booklet, and a non-governmental ID card translate your national Driver License into 15 languages! Languages include: English, Spanish, French, Arabic, Turkish, Farsi, Hebrew, Hindi, Russian, Japanese, Chinese, Portuguese, German, Italian and Malaysian. Simply apply for your World Driver’s License and drive around the world without the language barrier. WDL issued by private organizations or governmental agencies is only a translation of the original personal driver’s license from the country’s official authorities and general information agreed by the UN. Our WDL has no official status and does not confer any legal privileges or rights to consumers.
Why do you need your World Driver’s License?
World Driver’s License is valid in all countries that are listed in the booklet and have signed the 1949 Convention on Road Traffic and is recognized in many countries that are not signatories to the Convention. You are required to have a world driver’s license and your original Driver Licence to drive in most countries. Car rental agencies in most countries may require you to have a world drivers license to rent a car.
The November 8th, 1968 Vienna Convention on Road Traffic was amended in 2006 and requires the world Driver’s License to contain additional information pertaining to the driver license holder. The additional information is to assist the traffic police and law enforcement officers in case of an emergency or any other issue that may arise involving WDL holder. A World Driver’s License allows you to drive a motor vehicle in another country accompanied by your valid driver license from your home country. The WDL is slightly smaller than most passports and contains your personal information from your original Drivers License, photograph and expiration date.
